Emmis magazine retracts glowing Vick article
Mon. November 05 - 2007
IBJ Staff
Atlanta Magazine, which is owned by Indianapolis-based Emmis Communications Corp., has published an unusual retraction to a fawning profile of disgraced Falcons quarterback Michael Vick it published four years ago.

The magazine reprinted the article but with observations in red handwriting, portions marked out and other changes. A section of one sentence, “You know about Vick,” is highlighted in yellow with an arrow tracing to an artists’ rendering of Vick in a courtroom.

Vick has been suspended from the NFL and is awaiting a sentence on dog-fighting charges.

Atlanta Magazine retracts Vick article

How wonderful! Finally, an Atlanta magazine with the guts to really show how disgusting and dishonest Vick treated everyone while he was proudly participating in his dog torture-killing-fighting criminal enterprise! He completely suckered me too. My 50 year old white boyfriend got every single Vick mug, shirt, hat, ticket, etc....and then this horrific crime was revealed. Both of us felt like complete idiots, and were just sickened that we had spent any money that trickled into Vicks pockets. Disappointed does not begin to describe my emotion. Rage and disgust are somewhat appropriate, and he better be glad that I'm not in charge of sentencing him. Thank you so much for saying LOUDLY AND CLEARLY what millions of animal loving football fans feel.
